Beading Hobby to Beading Business
Saturday 9 am – 6 pm with a 2-hr lunch
Tuition:  $120

Description:
Are you ready to move to move from to Hobbyist to Business Owner/Designer? Not sure where to start or how to begin. Need help in determining the right business direction for your creative business? Come learn the fundamentals need to establish a clear direction and vision, for your craft business.

Topics will include:

  • Refining your creative vision
  • The “Simple” Creative Business Plan
  • Selecting a Business Structure
  • Break-Even Analysis and Pricing
  • Set pricing and drive down cost to make a profit
  • Defining your Target Market(s)
  • How to Identify their competition

Further, we’ll discuss the how and why of selling your work. Pricing for wholesale and retail venues, methods of selling to stores or individuals and of course we will discuss the tax implications of selling. Handouts and resources will be provided so that you walk away with Essential Business Tools and Resource.

Ready to take your creative business to the next level? But, you’re not sure what the next level is? Need structure and focus for combine your talents and passions into the “right” business opportunities? Is your dream required to make money and does it need to, now?

This workshop help you answers theses questions by sitting you down and strategizing through business building activities, a bit of creative play, discussions, and just some simple hard-core right-brain business planning.

String and beading go hand and hand, right? To help answers all the question I receive regarding…”what string should I use or “what is THIS for…here is my response:

Stringing materials used to bead, knot, and string beads include:

Beading Cord

  • Beading cord is thicker than thread.
  • Use it in knotting pearls, macrame and crochet projects.
  • The “No.” listed on the top of the package indicates the thread size.
  • The higher the “No.” the thicker the cord. No. 6 cord is thicker than No. 4 thread.
  • Available in natural silk and synthetic nylon.
